Lower Polk Community Benefit District in conjunction with La Voz Latina is proud to announce the creation of a new website for Sergeant John Macaulay Park.
Sergeant John Macaulay Park is named in honor of a local police sergeant fallen in the line of duty in 1982. First built in 1983, this unique park eventually become a haven for illegal activity. It was closed for a number of years and was reopened in 2000. Unlike many parks, Sergeant Macaulay Park is “kids only” and all adults must be accompanied by a child. Macaulay Park is also special in that it is located in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood, and is one of the few local play spaces available for children.
